David Anthony Johnson
My late great-grandmother, Frankie Lennilee Perry (1902-1997), from Brownsville, Tennessee. She has been the most influential person in my life. She helped to raise me along with my mother, aunt and two uncles. She was the daughter of a Tennessee slave. It was through her inspiration that I developed a love and passion for the works of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life, the lives of the American slaves and for Negro Spirituals. She has inspired me to use my God-given talents to help others. She also taught me how to love my fellow man and woman regardless of race, color, creed or nationality. I live to carry on her legacy of love. I will always love and honor her memory.
